Developments
The Club recently received a £5K grant from the Hertfordshire Community Foundation. This money is being spent on resurfacing the car park, adding additional pathways, fencing in the practice wall/mini court, strengthening the existing fencing to support windbreaks and purchasing some new coaching equipment to support our planned after school Tennis Clubs in conjunction with the local primary schools.
The Club is also undertaking the journey towards achieving Clubmark status. Clubmark will open up additional funding support from the LTA, national charities and local authority. Whilst it is still early days, we are considering:
- floodlighting 3 courts and are in the process of submitting a planning application
- the addition of a further all weather court
- and adding two further mini courts
Should we be able to achieve these targets we will be able to offer ‘first class tennis facilities’ for local villagers, be they adults or juniors.
